Howdy friend? In this post I am going to share information about how you can boost your coding speed and can save lots of time of searching code with Bing Developer Assistant extension for Visual Studio 2012 or 2013.
While coding we do lots of searching on Google or Stackoverflow for the code references or samples which definitely saves our time if we get a sample code. But for we need to keep switching between Visual studio and browser and getting the desired code is too totally depends on how you search the code (Searching on Google is too an Art! :-))
If you are familiar with two popular extensions of Visual Studio “Sample Browser” and “Bing Code Search” then you will find Bing Developer assistant as combination of these two extensions with some additional features.
Bing developer assistant enables intellisence to get sample code while coding itself which allows developer to reduce efforts with best approach of such code (not always though). You can refer below image to get an idea how it will work once you install it.
With above feature it also provides a sample browser or you can say search box in which you can search for specific code help. Once you hit enter you get sample code snippets like below.
(It also searches in your existing projects)
Along with code snippets it also provides sample projects to download from different resources like below.
Along with above powerful features it has offline search facility by which you can search for a code in your local or downloaded samples even if you are not connected to the internet. Sounds Cool??
Below is a screenshot of configuration page under “Tools” where you can add samples.

Download for Visual Studio 2013
I will definitely recommend this extension in regular use but better if you download and test whether it suits you or not.
I hope you have benefited with this post. Do share your thoughts in comment section below. Thanks.
