Hello friend, In this post I am goint to share information about .NET Fiddle which lets you to do some coding online which you can share online and also perform collaboration to find out the logic on some difficult task.
Most of the time while development you need to test some simple code or try out the code provided by other developer but for that too you need to maintain a test project in visual studio or you write some junk code in project itself, debug and again delete it. All this process takes some time to load visual studio then for debugging and all this you are doing just to test the code.
To overcome this problem group of .NET developers at ENTech Solutions have built this awesome .NET fiddle who says they were sick and tired of starting Visual Studio, creating a new project and running it, just to test simple code or try out samples from other developers. This tool is inspired by jsfiddle.net which is well known fiddle.
As on today .NET Fiddle supports project type Console, Script and MVC for C#, VB.NET and F# languages for .NET Framework 4.5. It also supports some NuGet packages but list is very restricted which you can see here.
To create a new fiddle you need to select language, project type (C# is default language). Below is the fiddle which I had created to calculate a factorial for a number.
As like above you can share with your friend developers or embed the created fiddle on your blog very easily. You can generate a link of fiddle as like jsfiddle and can share it on facebook, twitter or by mail.It also has Advanced widget builder by which you can generate HTML markup.
It has collaboration feature implemented within it by which you can work jointly on an same fiddle as like you are sitting toghether. For collaboration they have used togetherJS which a is a free, open source JavaScript library by Mozilla (awesome).
Once you start collaboration a window like following will see at the right hand side of browser which provides a link which you need to share with the person to invite to work jointly on same fiddle.
If you sign up with .NET fiddle then you it maintains a list of fiddles you have created also you can maintain a favoriate fiddles for future reference.
Hope you have liked this post. Do share with your friends to let them know about .NET Fiddle.
Try out .NET fiddle here and let me know your experience in comment section below.
